Cvtà Street Fest 2020 Edition
It’s official! On 5th and 6th of September CVTA’ StreetFest returns to Civitacampomarano (CB).
This year’s will be a special edition, short but no less exciting. The real protagonists will be the inhabitants of Civita who will create works of art conceived at a distance by the artists for this edition in which their presence was not possible. We’re waiting for you for two days of art, music, street food and cinema in compliance with the safety regulations!
THE FESTIVAL IS OURS!!
During the lockdown we had thought of suspending the festival until 2021. However, we had not reckoned with the tenacity of the people of Civita, ready for anything in order to make the festival survive at any cost. In the coming weeks we will show you what happened during these last few months, what has made possible a new, special, ambitious 5th edition of CVTA’ street fest!
THE IDEA
And finally the idea takes shape. The artists will conceive projects from remote and the inhabitants of Civita will carry them out with their supervision and that of Alice Pasquini who will be on site. An idea inspired by Maria Lai’s work ‘To tie to the mountain’, a milestone of public art that involved a whole town in Sardinia in 1981. An ambitious project that binds the work of the artists invited in the past editions and the citizens who looked after them during their residences and who now bind in a special correspondence, one arm and one mind.
Jan Vormann from Chile immediately launched his project for CVTA’ 2020: a free wall that will allow the citizens of Civita to express themselves and share their thoughts.
THE NET
For this exciting and remote edition of the festival, the Polish artist Nespoon, guest of CVTA ‘in 2018, couldn’t be missing. During that edition Nespoon met in Civita Mrs. Crisis, a prodigy of the art of lace, who gave the artist a precious crochet work of hers. From that encounter and from that small jewel of crafting one of the most heartfelt mural works of the festival was born. Crisis left us a few months ago and Nespoon together with the ladies of Civita decided to celebrate that incredible talent with a collective work that literally wants to embrace the whole town.
